We were in Blockbuster this evening (don’t ask) and took a look at the “most rented videos” wall. At number five was a movie called The Line, starring Andy Garcia and Ray Liotta. The following conversation ensued.

PHXated: Can I ask a question? Is this really one of the “most rented movies”?

Manager Guy: Oh, yes, it’s very popular. We get a lot of requests for it.

PHX: Really?

MG: [Backpedaling a bit] Well, that’s just not here, that’s national. The list comes from the top Blockbuster headquarters.

PHX: But who’s renting it? I’ve never even heard of it.

MG: Well, that’s because it’s a Blockbuster exclusive. You didn’t see all the big-time ads from the producers because we have it exclusively.

PHX: Forgive my bluntness, but that’s because it’s a bad movie that never got released. It’s hard to believe it’s getting rented.

MG: [Winks]

PHX: [Sighs]
