Get your photo taken for the "NOH8" campaign today

You’ll remember that the photo above is of Cindy McCain, wife of the virulently anti-gay John McCain.
The shot is part of a California-based campaign to undo some of the embarrassment normal people felt after the creepier side of California turned out to pass Proposition 8 in 2008, which overturned the state Supreme Court’s decision allowing gays to marry there.
The campaign is called “NOH8,” for “no hate.” It’s not the best campaign in the world. I’ve never been clear as to why people have tape over their mouths. They aren’t the ones spewing hate, right?
Anyway, it’s been taking shots of regular people, too; you can be one of them at a big fundraising photo shoot today at the W in Scottsdale.
It runs from 4 to 7 today.
It’ll cost you $40, or $25 a person for group shots, which also gets you into a post-photo shoot meet-and-greet with NOH8’s founder, photographer Adam Bouska. The campaign wants you to wear a white t-shirt.
